These are the things I do to keep my hair healthy and to retain the length I gain.
Shampoo
I shampoo weekly usually on Sundays. I use Creme of Nature Conditioning and Detangling shampoo.
Deep Conditioning
I deep condition after every shampoo so again usually on Sundays. Sometimes I will deep condition overnight on dry hair.
Co Washes
I do this once per week usually Wednesday. Just run conditioner through the hair and rinse. This is a great way to get extra moisture in.
Protein Treatments
I do these once monthly. This helps me maintain a nice moisture/protein balance.
Clarifying
I clarify with VO5 Clarifying shampoo right before a protein treatment. Once every month.
Moisturize
This is key to any hair regimen. Without moisturizing, hair becomes dull, brittle and prone to breakage. I moisturize my hair nightly. I rub Organic Root Stimulator Moisturizing lotion through my strands and then seal in the moisture with some Extra Virgin Coconut Oil.
Protective styles
I wear protective styles 99% of the time. These include: small roller-sets (more sprial like), curly up-dos, braid outs(rarely), buns(which I wear almost everyday) and french rolls.
I think protective styles more than anything have helped me retain my length.
I really try to keep it simple. Now and again I will try new products to find things that will be beneficial to my hair. Just find what works and stick with it.
